Abstract

Penelitian mengenai aktivitas makan Tarsius bancanus saltator dalam kendang untuk konservasi di Pulau Belitung telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni sampai Agustus 2010 di daerah sekitar kawasan hutan lindung Gunung Tajam di Pulau Belitung, Provinsi Kepulauan Bangka Belitung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan antara aktivitas makan dengan aktivitas lain selain aktivitas makan pada Tarsius bancanus saltator di dalam kandang dan juga untuk mengetahui periode waktu aktivitas makan tertinggi yang dilakukan oleh Tarsius bancanus saltator di dalam kandang. Pengambilan data aktivitas makan berdasarkan metode one-zero sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ke empat tarsius (2 ekor jantan dan 2 ekor betina) yang diamati lebih banyak melakukan aktivitas makan dari pada aktivitas lainnya (minum, suara, defekasi, urinasi, lokomosi, grooming, istirahat). Persentase aktivitas makan dari keseluruhan aktifitas lain yang diamati pada Tarsius bancanus saltator tertinggi pada betina 1 sebesar 62,29 %, diikuti oleh betina 2 sebesar 58,89 %, jantan-1 sebesar 56,17 % dan jantan 2 sebesar 50,55 %.
