Abstract
The research about The Isotherm of Adsorption-Desorption and Porosity of Ni/Mo-Zr02 Pillared Montmorillonite Catalyst had been done. Natural montmorillonite wa5 modified with the pillaring agent Zr02 and then followed by Ni/Mo impregnation with variation amount of Ni:Mo 0g;0.38376g, 0.0587g; 0.28782g, 0.1174g;0.19188g, 0.1761g;0.09594g and 0.2348g;0g. The catalyst characterization was conducted including topography pattem by using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), shift of 20 angle by using XRD (X-ray diffraction) and the analysis of isotherm adsorption and catalyst’s porosity by using Gas Sorption Analyzer (NOVA-1000). The type of isotherm adsorption that formed (BDDT classification) is type II for mesopores catalyst and the type of isotherm desorption that formed (BET classification) is type B for slit-shaped pores or the space between parallel plates. The results of this research show that pillarization by Z1O2 increase the specific surface area from 24.688 m2/g equal to 113.465 m2/g and the total pore volume of catalyst from 0.04315 cc/g equal to and 0.1704 cc / g. The influence of impregnation of Ni/Mo resulted in a decrease of specific surface area and total pore volume in which the largest decline experienced by the NMMZ (Ni/Mo Montmorillonite Z1O2) 0:4 that is equal to 65.557 m2/g and 0.08830 cc/g. Whereas, pore radius average increase with the largest increases in NMMZ 3:1 that is equal to 35.5513 A. BJH (distribution of Pore) catalyst is a mesopores with pore radius 15-17A.
