Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari populasi dan aktivitas bakteri dan fungi pada tanah disekitar beberapa komoditas tanaman di lahan lebak. Dan juga untuk mengetahui pengaruh beberapa sifat kimia tanah terhadap populasi bakteri dan fungi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari bulan Juli hingga Desember 2009. Di Laboratorium Kesuburan, Kimia, dan Biologi Tanah Jurusan Tanah Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sriwijaya, Irdralaya. Pengaruh komooitas tanaman terhadap populasi dan aktivitas bakteri dan fungi dianalisis dengan sidik ragam menurut Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Hasil penelitian ini menunji'kan bahwa keanekaragaman pemanfaatan lahan rawa lebak pada berbagai komodiatas tanaman (karet, cabe, semak, padi, dan akasia) berpengaruh terhadap populasi dan aktivitas bakteri dan fungi, dan berkorelasi nyata dengan beberapa sifat kimia tanah. Populasi bakteri tertinggi dijumpai pada tanah padi, sedangkan populasi fungi tertinggi dijumpai pada tanah yang dibudidayakan dengan tanaman cabe.
