Abstract

This study aimed to determine the role of the Street Literacy Friends Community in Improving Social Care of Members of the Community in Palembang City. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Informants or resource persons in this study amounted to 9 people. Data collection techniques used are documentation, interviews, and observations. The validity test of the data used includes the credibility test, transferability test, dependability test and confirmability test. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Based on the data analysis that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the role of the Street Literacy Friends community in increasing members' social awareness of the community in the city of Palembang is quite good, where the Street Literacy Friends community has the ability to facilitate its members by carrying out work programs that can increase members' social awareness of the community, namely book-raising activities and book donation activities, as well as being involved in fundraising activities and humanitarian actions. Other work programs such as literary talks, garden poetry and book reviews, which involve all active members of the community, collaborate with other communities and involve the community in the activities carried out. as well as being involved in fundraising activities and humanitarian actions.
