Abstract

This study aims to determine how to identify the ability to read pictures in children aged 4-5 years in Trimorejo Village, East OKU Regency. This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The sample of this research is children aged 4-5 years in Trimorejo Village, totaling 15 children with random sampling technique. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of field observations, direct interviews with teachers who teach reading and writing lessons in Trimorejo Village and documentation. The results of the study stated that there were 7 children's ability to read picture card media with a percentage of 75.52% developing as expected. While the ability to tell stories about pictures there are 6 children with a percentage of 77.5% in the very well developed category. The ability to connect pictures with words there are 9 children with a percentage of 82.5% in the very well developed category. The accuracy and fluency of reading the picture there are 7 children with a percentage of 74.98% the category develops as expected. Based on the results of the research as a whole, it can be seen that the ability to read pictures of children aged 4-5 years in Trimorejo Village is 77.62% in the very well developed category.
