Abstract

This study aims to determine when the seeds duku (Lansium domesticum. Corr) formed and determine whether the fruit is feasible to be consumed when the seeds have not teste bitter. The research was conducted from November 2015 to February 2016 this research was conducted at Plant Breeding Laboratory, Agriculture Faculty, Sriwijaya University. The method used in this research observation. Observations were made on the morphology of flowers, seed embryos, and the development of the seed and aril of duku. The results show that duku seed can be seen after the 2 week after perfect open flower. It is possible to do the prevent seed development with special treatment before the 2 week after the flower opens perfectly. Duku fruit can not be consumed in the seventh week after the flowers are perfectly open, duku fruit not yet economical to be utilized does to no fruit flavor, small size, thick fruit peel and stick fruit sap. At this stage the seeds have tasted bitter, and the aril color cream.
