Abstract

The development of farmer groups is carried out by raising awareness of farmers, where the existence of farmer groups is carried out from, by, and for farmers, with a participatory feel so that the principles of equality, inspiration, responsibility, accountability, and cooperation become new content in empowering farmers. It is known that there are difficulties for members of farmer groups in accessing assistance or subsidies from the government and the schedule for using agricultural machinery (ALSINTAN) is less effective and the level of participation of members of farmer groups towards farmer groups is relatively low. The objectives of this study are to measure the role of farmer groups of rice farmers in Tugu Agung Village, Lempuing Subdistrict, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, then to calculate farmers' income of rice farming and to analyze the corelation between farmer groups' roles and farmers' income. Data collection was carried out in December 2021. The methods used were survey and observation methods. The sampling method in this study was a simple random method. Researchers take samples in stages, namely with each group of farmers 2-3 samples will be taken. The results of this study indicate that farmer groups in Tugu Agung Village, Lempuing Subdistrict, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency have a high role or very good criteria. The average income of rice farmers in Tugu Agung Village is Rp. 15,733,969/ha/season. Based on the results of the research, there is a relationship with high criteria with a score of 0.879** between the role of farmer groups on the income of lowland rice farmers and the increase in the income of lowland rice farmers in Tugu Agung Village, Lempuing Subdistrict, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency.
