Abstract

This research was conducted with the objectives to: (1) Analyzing whether farming of citronella in Ogan Ilir Regency is financially feasible. (2) Calculating the financial feasibility of the citronella oil business as a result of processing the citronella plant into citronella essential oil in Ogan Ilir Regency. (3) Identify how to market essential oils in Ogan Ilir Regency. This research starts in December 2021 until it is finished. The method in this study was carried out using the case study method, for the sampling method itself using the purposive sampling method, and for the data collection method using primary and secondary data collection methods. Based on the business feasibility criteria for citronella farming, the following results were obtained, R/C Ratio of 2,91 and based on this it can be concluded that citronella farming in Ogan Ilir Regency is profitable and worth to running. Based on the financial feasibility criteria for the citronella oil refining business in Ogan Ilir Regency, the following results were obtained: (1) NPV of Rp27.458.938,64, (2) IRR of 17,01%, (3) Net B/C Ratio of 1.04, based on these results, the citronella oil refining business in Ogan Ilir Regency is profitable and feasible to run. And in the citronella oil refining business in Ogan Ilir Regency itself, a sensitivity analysis is also carried out which is based on two scenarios, the first scenario, if there is an increase in the operational costs of this refining business is still said to be feasible with a maximum limit of 8,33%, and for the second scenario if there is a price decrease in the production output of this citronella oil business it is still said to be feasible with a maximum limit of 7,68% changes. The marketing of citronella oil in the citronella oil refining business in Ogan Ilir Regency here is done by selling the results to middlemen at a price of Rp200.000,00/liter in Solok, West Sumatra and Baturaja, South Sumatra by using land routes..
