Abstract

Attack of plant disturbing organism on pineapple (Ananas comosus) is one of the factors causing the low production of pineapple. One of the most common diseases that attack pineapple (Ananas comosus) is leaf spot disease. Curvularia sp is a disease pathogen that causes leaf spot on pineapple plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the development of leaf spot disease Curvularia sp on pineapple plants from Tanjung Batu Village, Tanjung Batu District, Ogan Ilir Regency. The benefit of this research is to find out and provide information regarding the effect of Curvularia on the development of leaf spot disease in pineapple. This research was carried out in October 2021. This study was conducted to determine the development of pineapple leaf spot disease using a randomized block design (RDB) with 2 treatments and 10 replications, namely P1: Treatment of Curvularia (without wounding / TT) and P2: Treatment of Curvularia (with wounding / TS). From the results of the study, it was found that Curvularia from Tanjung Batu village, Tanjung Batu District, Ogan Ilir Regency can attack and grow on pineapple plants in the study area. Early symptoms of leaf spot disease can cause the affected leaves to have small yellow-brown spots, the spots will enlarge over time to form dark brown irregular circles and black fungal spores.
