Abstract

The objectives of this study were (1) to describe the condition of food security in Soak Batok Village, Ogan Ilir Regency (2) to analyze the effect of food availability on the food security of farmer households in Soak Batok Village, Ogan Ilir Regency (3) to analyze the effect of food affordability on household food security. farmers in Soak Batok Village, Ogan Ilir Regency whose hopes can be a reference in food security in Soak Batok Village. This research was conducted in Soak Batok Village, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. Determination of research location based on BPS Ogan Ilir survey. Soak Batok Village has a low score in the food security score which can be seen in BPS Ogan Ilir. Food security does not only include the notion of sufficient food availability, but also the ability to access food and the absence of food dependence on any party. Adequate food availability, not accompanied by adequate food access and optimal food absorption will lead to food insecurity. The high level of food production volume compared to the total population does not mean that there is no food shortage population. The sector that has a big share in achieving food security in Indonesia is the agricultural sector. The research method in this research is descriptive and scoring. The result of goal one is to describe food security which includes availability, affordability and the level of basic food prices. The second objective is to analyze the food availability score with a score of 1.19 which means it is not good in food availability. Goal three is about food affordability with a score of 1.59 which means it is not good in food affordability. The fourth objective is about the level of basic food prices with a score of 1.69 which means that it is not good in the level of basic food prices in Soak Batok Village. Soak Batok Village is in dire need of food assistance from thelocal government in order to increase the food security index in farmer households in Soak Batok Village.
