Abstract

Sweet potato is a branched shrub plant origanating from Amerika which contain vitamins, mineral, protein, crude fiber,ash and calories. This research was conducted to study the effect of incorporating cow manure, empty oil palm bunches, maja fruit organic liquid fertilizer in planting media on the growth and yield of yellow sweet potato. This research was begin from August to December 2021 on Jalan Seruni, Bukit Lama. This study used yellow sweet potato cuttings. There were 4 types of organic fertilizer used and mixed into planting media, A = soil (1) : cow manure (1), B = soil (1) : empty oil palm bunches (1), C = soil (1) : cow manure (1) + maja fruit organic liquid fertilizer (1:9), D = soil (1) : empty oil palm bunches (1) + maja fruit organic liquid fertilizer (1:9).Parameters observed in this study were main stem length, number of branches, greenish level of leaves, tuber weight, number of tubers, tuber volume, tuber length, weight of wet root and harvest index.Based on the observations, the application of oil palm empty fruit bunches and liquid organic fertilizer of maja fruit gave a better effect on the growth and yield of yellow sweet potatoes.
