Abstract
The research about the preparation and characterization of AI2O3 pillared bentonite and the effect NaOH concentration on the adsorption. The characterization included acidity (ammonia and pyridine) dan X-Ray Diffraction (XRD).Natural bentonite activated by H2SO4 2M. This material was intercalated and pillarization with polikation Al type Keggin [Ali304(0H)24(H20)|2]7+ and was calcined at temperature 300°C by using a microwave. The results of characterization XRD showed an increase of basal spacing between the bentonite before and after calcination in amount of 1,51 nm until 1,55 nm. Total value of the highest acidity of NH3 at 25 minutes of 6,0879 mmol / g while for pyridine in 10 minutes at 2,4043 mmol / g. Immersion effect of NaOH towards NH3 and pyridine adsorption showed the decreasing of AI2O3 pillared bentonite.
