Abstract

Cempedak leaves (Artocarpus champeden) contain secondary metabolites such as phenolic compounds that have anti inflammatory, antioxidant, and antibacterial activities which have the potential to accelerate second-degree burns healing. The aim of this study was to determined effect of the ethyl acetate fraction and the ethanolic fraction of cempedak leaves in various doses and their effectiveness on the acceleration of second-degree burns healing. The animals test were divided into several groups, namely the positive group (Lanakeloid-E®), the negative group, the ethyl acetate fraction group and the treatment groups dosage 15, 30, and 45 mg/200gBW for the ethyl acetate and the ethanolic fraction respectively observed the burn area, %recovery, the formation and release of scabs, and wound healing time. Burn area data were analyzed using a one-way ANOVA test to identify the difference in the percentage of burns healing in each group. The total phenolic content in the ethyl acetate fraction of cempedak leaves was 71 mg GAE/g fraction and the ethanol fraction was 42 mg GAE/g fraction. Statistical analysis showed percentage of burn recovery stated that there was no significant difference between the positive control and the treatment group for the ethyl acetate fraction and the ethanol fraction of cempedak leaves (p>0.05). The ethyl acetate fraction and the ethanol fraction of cempedak leaves with various doses showed burn healing activity and the ethyl acetate fraction at a dose of 45 mg/200gBW was an effective dose that could accelerate the healing of second-degree burns with 100% recovery for 12 days. Keywords : Second-Degree Burns, Artocarpus champeden, Fraction, Phenolic, %Recovery Daun cempedak (Artocarpus champeden) mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder berupa senyawa fenolik yang memiliki aktivitas antiinflamasi, antioksidan, dan antibakteri yang berpotensi mempercepat penyembuhan luka bakar derajat II. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian variasi dosis fraksi etil asetat dan fraksi etanol daun cempedak serta keefektifannya terhadap kecepatan penyembuhan luka bakar derajat II. Hewan uji dibagi menjadi beberapa kelompok yaitu kelompok positif (Lanakeloid-E®), kelompok negatif, kelompok uji fraksi etil asetat dan fraksi etanol dosis 15, 30, dan 45 mg/200gBB serta diamati luas luka bakar, %recovery, terbentuk dan lepasnya keropeng, dan waktu penyembuhan luka. Data luas luka bakar dianalisis menggunakan uji one-way ANOVA untuk melihat perbedaan persentase penyembuhan luka bakar pada tiap kelompok. Kadar fenolik total pada fraksi etil asetat daun cempedak sebesar 71 mg GAE/g fraksi serta pada fraksi etanol sebesar 42 mg GAE/g fraksi. Hasil uji stastistik %recovery luka bakar menyatakan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kontrol positif terhadap kelompok perlakuan fraksi etil asetat dan fraksi etanol daun cempedak (p>0,05). Fraksi etil asetat dan fraksi etanol daun cempedak dengan berbagai variasi dosis menunjukkan aktivitas penyembuhan luka bakar dan fraksi etil asetat dosis 45 mg/200gBB merupakan dosis efektif yang dapat mempercepat penyembuhan luka bakar derajat II dengan %recovery 100% selama 12 hari.
