Abstract
Burns can cause shock, severe pain and infection if the wound is left untreated. Breadfruit leaves (Artocarpus altilis) have several activities such as antiinflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial which is potential as the healing of burns. This study aims to determine the effective dose between the ethyl acetate fraction and the ethanol fraction for healing of second-degree burns. Burns were made using a heated iron plate and affixed to the rat's back for 10 seconds. The test animals were divided into groups, namely positive control, negative control, ethyl acetate fraction and ethanolic fraction treatment group with doses of 15, 30, and 45 mg/200 gBW. Parameters observed for burns are burn area, scab formation and %recovery. The data was analyzed using one-way ANOVA test. The phenolic content of the ethyl acetate fraction was 59 mg GAE/g fraction and the ethanol fraction was 45.75 mg GAE/g fraction. The results showed that the ethyl acetate fraction and the ethanol fraction at a dose of 45 mg/200 gBW were the effective doses for healing burns with %recovery of 100% and 99.829%, respectively. The results of statistical tests stated that there was no significant difference in the percentage of burns reduction between the positive control and the treatment group with the ethyl acetate fraction (15, 30, 45 mg/200 gBW and ethanolic fraction (15, 30 and 45 mg/200 gBW) (p>0, 05). It can be concluded that the ethyl acetate fraction and the ethanol fraction of breadfruit leaves with various doses can accelerate the healing of second-degree burns, and the ethyl acetate fraction at a dose of 45 mg/200 gBW is the most effective of all treatments group for the healing of second-degree burns. Keywords : Second-Degree burns, Artocarpus altilis, Phenolic, Ethyl Acetate Fraction, Ethanol Fraction Luka bakar dapat menyebabkan syok, nyeri berat dan infeksi jika luka tidak ditangani. Analisis data menggunakan uji one-way ANOVA.
