Abstract
The synthesis of layered double hydroxide and polyoxometalate K4[α-SiW12O40].nH2O with ratio (2:1) has been done. The result of insertion were characterized using FT-IR spectrophotometer and XRD. Polioxometalate K4[α-SiW12O40].nH2O inserted layered double hydroxide was optimal to used as catalyst desulfurization of dibenzothiophene showed by table of percent conversion of dibenzothiophene. Characterization using FT-IR were showed the optimal insertion process at wavenumber 771 cm-1 that showed the wavenumber of polyoxometalate K4[α-SiW12O40].nH2O. The result using XRD characterization was showed not succesfully of polyoxometalate K4[αSiW12O40] inserted layered double hydroxide with ratio (2:1) at 2θ value at 10º was not expanded from 7,569Ȧ to 7,556Ȧ. That showed the inserted process polyoxometalate not succesfull. Polyoxometalate K4[α-SiW12O40].nH2O inserted layered double hydroxide (Zn/Al) applied as catalyst desulfurization of dibenzothiphene. Desulfurization process resulted 99,99% conversion of dibenzothiophene (DBT) at optimum condition was 0,05 g catalyst, 4 mL H2O2 at temperature 60 ºC and 1,5 hour reaction. Catalyst that have been used and washed can be reuse for desulfurization of dibenzothiophene at optimum condition resulted of percent conversion was 89,92%.
