Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the effectiveness of the herbicide Isopropylamine glysophate on the growth of purple nutsedge. This research was conducted from October to December 2021 in Bukit Baru, Palembang with following location (2°58'43.1"S, 104°42'26.5"E). This study used tubers of purple nutsedge. This study was arranged in randomized block design method which consisted of 9 treatments with 3 replication. Each replication consisted of 2 polybags (1 polybag for treatment and 1 polybag for control). Then, there were 27 polybags for treatment and 27 polybags for control, so a total of 54 polybags. 9 treatments consisted of A1 = 4 purple nutsedge tubers/polybag + spraying 2 WAP. A2 = 4 purple nutsedge tubers/polybag + spraying 4 WAP. A3 = 4 purple nutsedge tubers/polybag + spraying 8 WAP, B1 = 6 purple nutsedge tubers/polybag + spraying 2 WAP. B2 = 6 purple nutsedge tubers/polybag + spraying 4 WAP. B3 = 6 purple nutsedge tubers/polybag + spraying 8 WAP. C1 = 8 purple nutsedge tubers/polybag + spraying 2 WAP. C2 = 8 purple nutsedge tubers/polybag + spraying 4 WAP. C3 = 8 purple nutsedge tubers/polybag + spraying 8 WAP. Each treatment was sprayed with the herbicide isopropylamine glyphosate at a dose of 3,0 L/ha except for the control. The observed variables included growth of nut grass, plant height, percentage of mortality, percentage of regrowth, wet weight and dry weight. The results showed that spraying isopropylamine herbicide at a dose of 3,0 L/ha was effective at 2 WAP and 4 WAP.
