Abstract
The mass of cold seawater from the seabed is lifted up to the surface is referred to as upwelling. Due to the influence of Ekman Transport and the Coriolis Force. Some of the parameters used to review the occurrence of upwelling in the Positive IOD event are Sea Surface Temperature, Sea Level, Wind and Chlorophyll-a. Descriptive method as the method used to analyze the results of the image of each parameter that is processed in the GRADS.2.2 software. The South Sea of Java to West Sumatra experienced negative anomalies, especially in the month of SON (September-October-November) in 2019 with the dry season, there was an upwelling phenomenon around the Sea. Chlorophyll-a increased during these months, as an indicator of the upwelling phenomenon. In December, it still experienced periodic upwelling until normal conditions in early January.
