Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang furrower dengan tipe double bottom. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Bengkel Jurusan Teknologi Pertanian, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sriwijaya. Penelitian ini dimulai pada bulan April sampai September 2014. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode rancang bangun alat pembuat guludan tanah tipe double bottom kemudian dilanjutkan dengan pengujian hasil rancangan. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah sebagai berikut: 1) Furrower tipe double bottom telah berhasil dilakukan dan dilakukan pengujian sehingga diperoleh ukuran guludan yaitu lebar bawah 53,2 cm , lebar atas 29,6 cm , dan tinggi 14 cm. 2) Hasil perhitungan yang diperoleh saat pengguludan yaitu kapasitas lapang efektif sebesar 298,86 m /jam, kapasitas lapang teoritis sebesar 388,58 m /jam, dan effisiensi pengolahan 76,91 %. 3) Hasil pengukuran kadar air yang diperoleh dari pengujian yaitu sebelum pengguludan 39 % dan setelah pengguludan 28,67 %. 4) Hasil pengukuran bulk density yang diperoleh sebelum pengujian adalah 1,02 gram.cm'3 sedangkan setelah pengguludan 1,23 gram.cm'3.
