Abstract

Balinese cow (Bos sondaicus) and Brahmanese cow (Bos indicus) are included to farm animals used as a source of animal protein needs for the community. Balinese cow and Brahmanese cow are the main source of beef for national consumption which still depends on the breeding of livestock in the country in the form of farm people. The aims of study were to determine the types of ectoparasites found in Balinese cow and Brahmanese cow and and explain enviromental factor around the cage that afTect the incidence of ectoparasites on Balinese cow and Brahmanese cow. This study was conducted in December 2015 to February 2016. The method used purposive sampling method and analyzed with qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of this study were of ectoparasites of the order diptera (Fannia, Lucilia and Musca) and order Acari (Boophilus). Enviromental factor described around the cage that affect the incidence of ectoparasites on Balinese cow and Brahmanese cow are sanitation, feed and heap of manure. The ectoparasites on Balinese cow and Brahmanese cow consist of 2 order and 4 genus is Boophilus, Fannia, Lucilia and Musca.
