Abstract

PT Dizamatra Powerindo is a company engaged in the mining sector. One of the factors that can interfere with mining activities in the open pit method is the water factor, so an optimal drainage system is needed to prevent water from entering the mining area. The drainage system used at PT Dizamatra Powerindo is mine dewatering. This research was carried out by calculating and analyzing data on rainfall, catchment area, and total incoming water discharge so that the optimal sump dimensions were obtained. From the results of the study, the total incoming water discharge was 10.253.77 m3/day with a planned rainfall of 28.417 mm/day and a catchment area of 0.787 km2. The sump plan is made to resemble a trapezoid with the dimensions of the length and width of the sump surface of 46 meters, the length and width of the sump base of 36 meters, and the depth of the sump of 5 meters. So that the planned sump volume can accommodate 7,850 m3 of water. The pumps used to remove water from the sump are the Multiflo380 pump and HDPE (High Density Polythylene) pipe. With the incoming water flow of 10,253.77 m3/day and the pump discharge capacity of 5,216.4 m3/hour, it is necessary to add 1 pump unit to remove water from the sump. It is recommended to add 1 compartment to the settling pond to make it more efficient with a design volume of 1,408 m3.
