Abstract

Carbonate rock in the form of limestone is a unique and interesting phenomenon to be used as research material. The development of limestone is very sensitive to changes in geological conditions will provide excellent information about the history of the formation limestones,where this study discusses the process of diagenesis that occurs in limestone baturaja formation, lubukdalam area. In general , litology found in the form of packstone, wackstone and mudstone. The method us is field observation, sampling, and laboratory analysis. Result of research from seven samples known diagenesis process such as microbial, dissolution, compaction, citation and neomorfism. The main cement making comprises the microbial phase found in L1 sample with organic constituent material in the form of aglae and biomikrit. The dissolution phase is found in sample L5 with the formation of calcite minerals, phase neomorfhism is seen in sample L7 with blocky formation. Based on the result of paleontology analysis of batujaja formation in early miocene (N5-N12) with settlement environment in the form of transition zone.
