Abstract

Indonesia has coal reserves spread throughout the region so that many mining companies are engaged in the coal mining industry. Coal mining activities require large capital and investment and carry a high risk. PT. Asta Maharanita, located in Lahat Regency, South Sumatra, is one of the companies engaged in coal mining. This study aims to analyze the financials of the company in terms of investment feasibility plans using the discounted cash flow method, investment criteria for sensitivity to changes in coal selling prices, and investment criteria for sensitivity to changes in operating costs. The investment criteria resulted in a net present value (NPV) of Rp185.698.528.484, an internal rate of return (IRR) of 49%, and a payback period (PBP) of 1,69 years which indicates that mining activities are feasible. The investment criteria for the sensitivity to changes in the selling price of coal are variable from the selling price of the company's coal, showing changes in the selling price of -10%, -5%, +5% and +10% mining activities are still feasible. Then the investment criteria for the sensitivity of changes in operational costs are variable from the company's operational costs, showing changes in selling prices of -10%, -5%, +5% and +10% mining activities are still feasible, but at +10% changes in mining activities worth it but will benefit a bit.
