Abstract

The spread of the corona virus has an impact on people's lives, in terms of economy, food, and social. When a person cannot access food, it will have an impact on the fulfillment of that person's eating preferences. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in eating preferences during the Covid-19 pandemic (Study in Bekasi City and Palembang City). This research is a quantitative research with a cross sectional design. The population in this study were residents of Bekasi City and Palembang City aged 17-55 years. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. Data analysis was carried out by univariate and cross tabulation. The results of the study were dominated by the late adolescent age group (17-25 years) in both cities so that eating preferences better describe that age group. The results show that there are several differences in eating preferences, especially in the animal protein group preference in Bekasi City likes chicken eggs 41.1% while in Palembang City likes chicken meat 52.3%. On the preference of nuts in Bekasi City likes tempeh 50.5% while in Palembang City likes tofu 29.9%. The preferred types of fruit in Bekasi City are bananas and oranges 46.7%, while in Palembang they like fruit salad 49.5%. It is expected that respondents can increase the variety of food consumed because it can indirectly affect the variety and quality of food consumed.
