Abstract
A bio-briquette product innovation had prepared from a mixture of cassava skin (KS) and Rubber Seed Shell (TBK) using H2SO4 activator. The combination of KS and TBK raw materials used is 70:30% with a total weight of 8 grams, with various variables including carbonization temperature, acid compound concentration and length of chemical activation time. Variables used at carbonization temperatures were 400, 500 and 600℃, while chemical activations used concentrations of 1, 1.5 and 2N and activation times of 8, 16 and 24 hours. The resulting bio-briquette product was determined by its best variable by referring to SNI 01-6235-2000, with parameters tested inherent moisture (IM), Ash Content (Ash), Volatile matter (VM), Fixed carbon (FC), Calorific value (CV) and Density (Density). Based on the results of the analysis of the parameters tested obtained the best results on the variable carbonization temperature 500℃, by being chemically activated at a sulfuric acid concentration of 1.5 N for 24 hours, getting a moisture content value of 5.38%, ash content of 5.85%, Volatile matter of 24.40%, fixed carbon of 64.36%, calorific value of 24985,82 cal / g and density of 0.61 g / cm3. Based on the data from the analysis, it is known that most bio-briquette test parameters have met SNI 01-6235-2000. Only the levels of flying substances and carbon levels is not full the SNI bio - briquette.
