Abstract

The problem examined in this research is the moral value in the collection of short stories Tukar Takdir by Valiant Budi and its implementation in literary learning. The moral values used use the theory of Wicaksono. This study uses content analysis techniques. After conducting an initial analysis of paragraphs, sentences, and words, the researcher focused on eight short stories, because they contain moral messages that are in line with Wicaksono's theory of moral values. The short story is titled Destiny 2 Similar and Fragile, Destiny 3 Household Ambassadors, Destiny 4 Keys to the Door Finder, Destiny 6 Magic Centongs, Destiny 8 Lovers Need to Run, Destiny 9 Life is Hard, Destiny 10 Forgets Self Reminders, and Destiny 12 Eternal Throne. Based on the research that has been done, the researcher found moral values (1) Human relationship with God; praying and asking God, religious feelings, (2) Human relations with the social sphere; helping others, getting to know each other, helping the weak selflessly, true love, (3) Human relations with themselves; feelings of resentment and self-confidence, responsibility, courtesy, fear, longing, and loneliness. The results of this study can be implied in learning Indonesian in class XI short story material. Basic Competence 3.8 identifies the values of life contained in a collection of short stories read and Basic Competence 4.8 demonstrates one of the values of life learned in short stories.
