Abstract

PT Bara Anugrah Sejahtera is a company engaged in coal mining. The mining system currently applied is the open pit method. Alng with the development of the mine, it will create a large basin that has the potential to become a water storage area. In the rainy season, water will in undate the mining area, causing the hole to be flooded. The pump used is a KSB DND 150 4H pump with a capacity of 574,2 m³/hour. Because the pump maintanance for 5 days caused the sump to overflow. Currently, the available sump is not sufficient to accomodate the amount of incoming water. It is know that the watershed area is 25,45 ha and the rainfall intensity is 19,104 mm/hour, so that the runoff water discharger is 12.630,75 m³/day. Currently the volume of water in the sump is 110.145,28 m³ which causes delays in coal production, so pumping is necassary. The required tubi’s in the form of atrapezoid with a volume of 50.023,50 m³. This volume is design edwith th assumption that the sump pis able to accomodate thei ncoming rainwater discharge with in 3 days without pumping. The recommended dimensions of the sump are to have top length (a) : 129 m, bottom length(c) : 129 m, top width (b) : 119 m, bottom width (d) : 119 m, tub height sump (Z) : 5 m, and a slope 60º. The pumping plan is carried out for 15 hours/day with a total head pump 76,239 m and the resulting discharge is 548,43 m³/hour so that the efficiency valueis 75%.
