Abstract

The purpose of this research were to: 1) describe the impact of climate change on rubber productivity at Burai Village, Tanjung Batu Ogan Ilir Subdistrict, 2) analyze the difference of rubber farmer's income and families income at Burai Village, Tanjung Batu Ogan Ilir Sub-district before and after the price of rubber mark down, 3) analyze the difference the pattern of farmer’s consumption at Burai Village, Tanjung Batu Ogan Ilir sub-district before and after the price of rubber mark down. This research was conducted at Burai Village, Tanjung Batu Sub-District, Ogan Ilir Regency. The location was chosen purposively with the interest of most people in the village of Burai has a profession as a rubber farmer. The data collection was conducted from October until December 2017. The method used in this research was survey method. The sampling method used in this research was simple random sampling method. The results of this study indicate the productivity of rubber in Burai Village as much as 1,345.80 kg/ha in 2012 to 1,151.42 kg/ha in 2016 decreased by 14.44 percent. The average income of sample farmers in 2012 was Rp 19,862,328.00 and in 2016 equal to Rp 6.408.596,04 per cultivated area per year. The income difference of sample farmers in 2012 and 2016 were Rp 13.453.731,96 per cultivated area per year decreased by 2016 as much as 67.73 percent compared to 2012. Average total income of sample farmers in 2012 Rp 53.200.161,66 and in the year 2016 of Rp 46.932.771,04 per year. The average difference between the total income of sample farmers between 2012 and 2016 were Rp 6.267.390,62 per year. Based on the overall profession conducted by sample farmers, the average farmer's total income in 2012 is higher than in 2016. The professions /work done by sample farmers were traders, builders, carpenters, songket weavers, workshops and kemplang crackers. Total food consumption expenditure in 2012 is Rp 19,572,700.00 per year or equivalent to 57.57 percent, while for non-food consumption expenditure of Rp 14,426,900.00 per year or equivalent to 42.43 percent. For 2016, the total consumption expenditure of sample farmers was Rp 18,788,566.67 or equivalent to 54.57 percent while non-food consumption expenditure of Rp 15,641,300.00 or equivalent to 45.53 percent. This suggests that, both in 2012 and in 2016, the proportion for food is mostly excluded by sample farmers compared with proportion for non-food. Consumption spending in 2012 is lower than in 2016.
