Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa dalam menginterpretasi gambar pada siswa SMP materi sistem tata surya di SMP Negeri 48 Palembang. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif serta instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data berupa soal essai. Subjek penelitian merupakan siswa kelas VIII.9 SMP Negeri 48 Palembang yang berjumlah 26 orang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan siswa dalam menginterpretasi gambar sebesar 48,23% (kategori sedang). Kemampuan siswa menginterpretasi gambar planet luar dan planet dalam sebesar 66,66% (kategori sedang), kemampuan siswa menginterpretasi gambar lapisan matahari 58,30% (kategori sedang), kemampuan siswa menginterpretasi gambar karakteristik planet sebesar 38,45% (kategori rendah), kemampuan siswa menginterpretasi gambar komet sebesar 30,76% (kategori rendah) dan kemampuan siswa menginterpretasi gambar meteoroid dan asteroid sebesar 28,20% (kategori rendah). Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan bisa memberikaan gambaran mengenai kemampuan menginterpretasi gambar materi siswa tata surya pada siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 48 Palembang.
