Abstract

In 2020 where the world is aggressively facing an extraordinary disaster , namely the occurrence of a health crisis , with the emergence of a very fast and also deadly disease outbreak caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus ( SARS - COV2 ) and the name of this disease is called Coronavirus Disease ( COVID - 19 ) . To handle this problem , one possible solution is to develop vaccines within the scope of health diplomacy between Indonesia and South Korea through PT . Kalbe Farma ( Tbk ) with Genexine.Inc . This study aims to determine the health diplomacy carried out by Indonesia and South Korea in the development of the COVID - 19 vaccine . This study uses the theory of Health Diplomacy as a comprehensive approach that includes elements of economics and business as well as science and strategy . The efforts of health diplomacy are different from the general method of negotiation between governments that are usually carried out , mainly because the interests that fight for the public interest are inherently more apolitical in nature , namely in the field of public health . The method used in this research is descriptive exploratory with a qualitative approach . The results of this study indicate that Indonesia and South Korea's health diplomacy is carried out to respond to the dynamics of global health by prioritizing national interests to achieve national health goals , with participation and building relationships from private entities , increasing the need for vaccines is clearly an effort to support Indonesia in response to COVID - 19 . Keywords : Health Diplomacy , Covid - 19 Vaccine Development , Bilateral Cooperation .
