Abstract

Energy needs are increasing from time to time. People really need electricity for personal use, household activities, education, office activities and companies. Hydroelectric power plant is one of the most widely developed power plants in Indonesia. Micro hydro power plant or abbreviated as PLTMH is one of the right choices to be developed in Indonesia's natural conditions. The construction of MHP does not have a negative impact on the environment or reduce water for agricultural irrigation purposes. Most importantly, MHP does not require fuel to operate. The main energy input in the form of water mass flow potential is not reduced, but the energy is only used in the form of water potential energy. The speed of water used to drive the Pelton turbine uses a jet water pump with a working pressure of 70 bar and a water discharge of 0.00091 m3/s. Then, the water hit the Pelton turbine prototype in a horizontal position. The distance between the nozzle and the turbine is 23 cm, 24 cm and 25 cm. The best value of current, voltage, and power at 23 cm nozzle distance variation with 90°, because the distance between the nozzle and the valve opening is the most optimal for emitting water so that it can rotate the turbine shaft to the maximum.
