Abstract
The study was intended to describe the students' perceptions of the teacher's teaching style in the XI IPS class of economics study at SMA Negeri 2 Palembang during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is quantitative descriptive. The population in this study were students of XI IPS class at SMA Negeri 2 Palembang with a total of 158 students. The research samples were 61 students counted on the yamane formula. Sampling retrieval techniques using the simple random sampling. The data collection techniques used were angkets, observation and interviews. Data analysis techniques are done with quantitative and qualitative. Quantitative data analysis techniques using variable trend testing. The qualitative techniques of data analysis are done with data collecting, data reduction, data presentation and a deduction or verification drawing. In all, the result of research has gained an average perception of students in the XI IPS class of economics study at SMA Negeri 2 Palembang during the Covid-19 pandemic was 73% in positive category with two indicators. The result at each indicator is that the acceptance and absorption indicator has a 75% percentage with a positive category and the evaluation indicator is having a percentage of 65% with a sufficient positive category. Based on this study it was suggested for educators to use teaching styles that have a positive perception of students and can develop creativity related to teaching styles in order to effectively optimize economic learning.
