Abstract

In the welding process, the factors that affect the results of welding include the angle of the seam and the strong current used. This is because the greater the cross-sectional area of the weld joint angle, the more electrode fluid that enters the joint corner, As for the influence of the welding current, the greater the current used, the better the melted electrode fluid binds to the material being welded. The purpose of this study was to determine the value of the strength of the GMAW welded joint using V seam using a seam angle of 30o, 45o and 60o and varying the current strength of 120 A, 125 A with bending testing and the tested material was ST 37 steel. The value of the strength obtained using a seam angle of 30o, 45o and 60o at a current of 120 A, obtained the value of the bending test strength at a 30o seam angle of 204,529,3701 Kgf/mm2, a 45o seam angle of 230,095.5414 Kgf/mm2, and a seam angle of 60o of 322,133,758 Kgf/mm2. For the seam angles of 30o,45o and 60o at a current strength of 125 A, the value of the bending test strength at a 30o seam angle is 204,529,3701 Kgf/mm2, a 45o seam angle is 178,963,1989 Kgf/mm2, and a 60o joint angle is 327,246,9922 Kgf. /mm2.
