Abstract

The purpose of this study is to: 1) Know the social economic conditions of oil palm farmers in sungai lilin district musi banyuasin regency. 2) Analyzing farmers incomes before and after oil palm replanting in sungai lilin district musi banyuasin regency. 3) knowing the impact of oil palm replanting on the social economic conditions of farmers in sungai lilin district musi banyuasin regency. This research was conducted in mitra tani village unit cooperative in mekar jadi village sungai lilin district musi banyuasin regency. The selection of research locations is carried out purposively or deliberately. Data collection is carried out in February 2022. The results of the study are 1) The social conditions of oil palm farmers in KUD Mitra Tani, in terms of the level of education is still relatively low, there are still many who only graduate from elementary school and junior high school. And the economic condition of the farmers in KUD Mitra Tani have the main livelihood as oil palm farmer, having side jobs of farmworkers, drivers, traders, entrepreneurs, and cooperative employees. 2) The income of farmers before replanting (old palm) was Rp6.821.653/lg/6 months and after replanting (buah pasir) was Rp2.044.855 so there was adecreasein farmers income by Rp4.776.798 and the percentage decreased by 70.02%. 3) The impact after replanting of social conditions that have the most impact is activities in the community such as social gathering activities. And the most impactful economic condition is that farmers' incomes are reduced compared to before replanting by 11.76%.
