Abstract

Preparation submicro particles extract ethanol cassava leaves with carrier PLGA (poly-(lactic-co-glycolic acid) and stabilizers PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) aims to improve the efectivity, facilitate the spread of extract in blood and accurate in achieving the target. A flavonoid rutin as the antioxidant identification with TLC. The identification show stain on a blue fluorescence uv with a wavelength 366 nm, at wavelengths 254 nm show damping brown stain and appreance of a yellow when sprayed of AlCl3 1%. Preparation submicro particle was used the emulsion solvent evaporation method which encapsulation extract in polymer and stabilizers with sonication time variation. Sonication time did not give great influence of encapsulation efficiency. Encapsulation efficiency of optimum formula is 63.215 % with 10 minutes sonication time. Concentration optimum PVA and sonication time can stabilize submikro particles and produce homogeneous distributed the size of submicro. Optimum formula produce values diameter of 455.366±18.986 nm, PDI (poly dispersity index) of 0.057±0.028, and zeta potential of -9.1±1.345 mV. Submicro particles extract ethanol cassava leaves stable in organoleptis because did not discoloration, separation phase was not present, did not cause a precipitation and did not cause a large pH change during the storage.
