Abstract

The diversity of fishery resources in Sembilang National Park is very abundant which includes commodities of high economic value such as mantis shrimp, cockle shells and jellyfish, but the potential for the utilization of these three commodities in business activities is still rarely known by the community around the area. This study aims to analyze the potential and feasibility of alternative capture fisheries resources, especially mantis shrimp, cockle shells and jellyfish in the Sembilang National Park, Banyuasin, South Sumatra. This research was held in July-August 2021 in Sembilang Village, Sembilang National Park. The method that used in this research are structured interviews and in-depth interviews. The warehouse business for collecting mantis shrimp, blood cockleand jellyfish in Sembilang Village each provided a business profit of Rp 68,214,776, Rp 176,583,333, Rp 187,942,714/year. Based on the analysis of investment criteria for mantisshrimp, cockle shells and jellyfish, the criteria are obtained as NPV > 1, Net B/C > 1 and IRR > discount rate, so that this business provides internal benefits and can be developed. Based on the analysis of business potential, it was found that the jellyfish business was the business with the most potential to be continued based on the profit category and profit productivity, while the cockle shells business was the business with the most potential to return capital in the shortest time.
