Abstract

Vannamei shrimp cultivation cannot be separated from problems that hinder the development of aquaculture business, including infectious diseases caused by parasites. One of the many parasites that attack shrimp is ectoparasites or parasites that are found attached to the surface of the shrimp body. The purpose of this study was to analyze the types of ectoparasites that infect Vannamei shrimp (L. vannamei) and to analyze the prevalence of ectoparasites in Vannamei shrimp (L. vannamei) at PT. Dua Putra Perkasa of Bengkulu Kaur. Examination of ectoparasites was carried out on the surface of the shrimp body using scrapping and wet mount methods. The identification results found that there were three types of ectoparasites that infect Vannamei shrimp, namely Zoothamnium sp. 48%, Vorticella sp. 30% and Episylis sp. 19%. Ectoparasite Zoothamnium sp. and Vorticella sp. belongs to the general category/ordinary infection. Episylis sp. included in the category of frequent / frequent infections.
