Abstract

Indonesia is a country that is currently experiencing an increase in the need for electrical energy, but there are still many areas in Indonesia where currently people are not able to enjoy electrical energy from PLN. This study uses a Hybrid Solar Power System that utilizes solar energy and is an alternative power system in areas that are difficult to reach by the PLN electricity network. This study uses a Hybrid Solar Power System which is combined with a generator set and electricity from PLN in a panel box with all three sources on standby and works automatically using an automatic transfer switch system. This research aims to reduce dependence and can replace the use of generator sets and PLN electricity. In this study, the application of Hybrid PLTS – Generator Set can reduce the use of generator sets for 1.5 hours which can save one liter of fuel from its operation. Hybrid PLTS – Generator Set designed using Automatic Transfer Switch which functions as an automatic transfer of supply to the load and ensures the availability of electrical energy supply, so that it can be connected to the PLN electricity network. If a PLTS Hybrid is designed according to what will be charged, the use of Hybrid PLTS – Generator Set not only reduces the use of the generator set, it even replaces it.
