Abstract

Flood water that can be absorbed and stored during the rainy season, then the water can be used for human needs and other purposes such as irrigation, agriculture, and fisheries in times of water shortage or dry season. The Air Salek sub-district is located in the tidal lowlands of ± 0.50 m above sea level. Secondary channel is part of the irrigation network which consists of drainage channel and complementary buildings. The secondary channel is the carrier that carries water from the secondary channel to the tertiary channel served by the channel, while the secondary discharge channel carries water from the tertiary channel to the primary or tertiary channel. From the results of a s urvey conducted in DamarWulan Village, Air Salek District, Banyuasin Regency, it was found that there is one secondary channel that must be normalized because the channel has a lot of damage along the channel, starting from channel leaks, damage to embankments to landslides in the channel body and overgrown with grass which causes blocked channel. The data used in this study are primary data taken directly at the SID OPLA activity in Banyuasin Regency in 2021 and secondary data in the form of rainfall data and climatological data obtained from the Kenten BMKG Station. This research uses hydrological analysis and hydraulics analysis. Hydrological analysis in the form of calculation of irrigation water needs, effective rainfall, and flood discharge, the period used for flood discharge is a return period of 1 year. For hydraulics analysis in the form of dimensional calculations and continued with simulations using HEC-RAS 4.1.0. From the simulation results, it can be concluded that the normalization of the existing channel by increasing the dimensions of the channel is planning for a width of 6.5 m, a channel height of 2.35 m, and a base width of 3 m. After normalization, it can be seen that the channel does not overflow in each STA and is able to accommodate the maximum planned flood discharge of 4.85 m3/s.
