Abstract

This research was conducted to continue previous research and identify agronomic characters and obtain BC1F1 acession from backcrossing of Inpago Unsoed 1 and F1 accession which have dual tolerance traits that are resistant to submerged stress in the vegetative phase and drought stress in the generative phase. This research was carried out in the greenhouse of the Department of Agricultural Cultivation, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University from September 2021 to January 2022. The study used Inpara 8, Inpago Unsoed 1 and F1 accession. This study used a randomized complete block design. The observed variables were plant height, tiller number, panicle number, grain number of panicle, number of grains per clump, weight of panicle grain, fresh weight of grain, dry weight of grain, weight of 1000 grains, percentage of empty grain, flowering age and harvesting age. The data were analyzed using the ANOVA test and continued with the 5% honest significant difference test. The Inpara 8 variety had better agronomic characteristics than the Inpago Unsoed 1 and F1 accession based on the parameters of the amount of grain per panicle, flowering age and harvest age. A backcrossing cross between Inpago Unsoed 1 (♀) x F1 accession (♂) produced 107 seeds from 376 pollinated flowers with a percentage of 28.04% of the crosses. The length of the husked rice and the width of the broken-skinned rice of the BC1F1 accession was very significantly different from its parents and had a relatively slender grain shape of 3.13 mm.
