Abstract

This study aims to find out how efficient the budget for official travel expenses within the region and outside the region at the DPRD Secretariat of South Sumatra Province during the Covid-19 pandemic in the 2020 fiscal year is seen from the four components of official travel costs, namely daily money, transportation money, lodging money, and representation money. This research was motivated by an increase in the amount of use of the regional official travel budget at the DPRD Secretariat of the South Sumatra Province during the Covid-19 pandemic when there was an efficient use of the budget. The efficiency analysis uses the efficiency ratio according to Mahmudi, namely the comparison between the realization of the official travel budget and the official travel budget. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques consist of interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the Secretariat of the DPRD of South Sumatra Province has not fully implemented efficiency in the use of the official travel budget within the region and outside the region. The efficiency isseen from the components of the cost of official travel within the region in the component of daily fees and lodging fees which are less efficient, while the components of the cost of travel outside the region in the components of transportation costs and lodging fees are less efficient, but for other components of official travel costs, it can be said to be quite efficient.
