Abstract

Tujuan penelitian yang dilakukan adalah untuk mendapatkan alat tanam jagung sistem dorong dengan kapasitas dan efektifitas keija alat yang tinggi Penelitian dilakukan di Bengkel dan Kebun Percobaan Jurusan Teknologi Pertanian, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Sriwijaya Indralaya dari bulan Juni 2009 sampai dengan November 2009. Metode yang digunakan pada pengolahan data adalah data dihitung secara tabulasi dan dianalisis dengan mengunakan standar vediasi. Parameter yang diamati adalah jumlah benih yang keluar, kedalaman alur yang terbentuk, ketepatan jarak tanam, keseragaman benih yang jatuh. Data yang didapat digunakan untuk menghitung kapasitas dan efisiensi. Berdasarkan hasil yang di dapat pada pengujian alat di lahan diketahui nilai rata-rata untuk jumlah benih yang keluar adalah 2,09 butir dan akurasinya 48,24 %. Nilai rata-rata untuk kedalaman alur yang terbentuk adalah 6,35cm dan akurasinya 92,57 %. Nilai rata-rata untuk jarak adalah 25,9 cm dan akurasinya 96,32 %. Nilai kapasitas lapang teoritis dan kapasitas lapang efektif adalah 0,05273 ha per jam dan 0,0482 ha per jam sehingga effisiensi yang di dapat adalah 91,41 %.
