Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of Aksi Cepat Tanggap in distributing aid to victims of the humanitarian crisis in Somalia. Aksi Cepat Tanggap as a non-governmental organization from Indonesia has moved swiftly in responding to the complex humanitarian crisis facing Somalia, such as drought, famine and internal conflicts in the Horn of Africa region. The methodology used in this research is by using a descriptive qualitative approach with secondary data sources obtained through various supporting documents, articles, journals and reports. This study uses the Role Theory of NGOs by David Lewis and Nazneen Kanji to see the real role through the humanitarian action of Aksi Cepat Tanggap in distributing humanitarian aid in Somalia. The roles carried out are First, Implementer by running the Humanitarian Ship Program, the Global Qurban Program and the assistance of the Qur'an. Second, a catalyst by gathering support through social media and concrete actions from the Indonesian people who help provide humanitarian assistance and implement Waqaf Well empowerment programs in overcoming the water crisis in Somalia. Third, Partnering with the Government of Somalia, through the Drought and Hunger Committee and collaborating with PT Samudera Indonesia, which was present in sending humanitarian aid to the African continent. The result of this research is that Aksi Cepat Tanggap is committed to implementing the Islamic World Humanity Solidarity program by helping fellow Muslims in Somalia. The Somali government was greatly helped by the distribution of humanitarian aid carried out by Aksi Cepat Tanggap and the Somali people felt helped by the Aksi Cepat Tanggap program which was present to ease the burden of suffering on the community due to the humanitarian crisis they were experiencing.
