Abstract

This thesis is entitled "The Development of Pangkalpinang District during the Dutch Colonial Period in 1913-1942". By raising the issue of the development of the Pangkalpinang District during the Dutch Colonial Period in 1913-1942. The purpose of this study is to find out the development of the Pangkalpinang District of the Dutch Colonial Period in 1913-1942. The method used in this study is the historical method, through four activities namely heuristics, criticism and interpretation and ending with Historiography. Research data were obtained through literature studies and literature reviews. The results of the study showed that the development of Pangkalpinang district was divided into 3 periods. In the early days that lasted from 1913-1923, Pangkalpinang district experienced developments in government, construction of government facilities, development of tin mining infrastructure, construction of schools, and socioeconomics of the community. In the middle period which lasted from 1923-1933 Pangkalpinang experienced developments in the construction of public facilities used by the community. In the final period that lasted from 1933-1942, the development of Pangkalpinang District could not be separated from Catholicism which also experienced a major development. During this time, catholic religious schools and facilities began to build.
