Abstract
Pulmonary Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by the bacterial agent Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The prevalence of cases increases in South Sumatra with a Case Detection Rate (CDR) of 37.3% and a Case Notification Rate (CNR) of 182 per 100,000 population. And based on the profile of the Palembang City Health Office, it recorded a significant increase in cases during the time the research was conducted. Environmental factors (environment) are a risk factor for the incidence of pulmonary TB. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the spatial distribution of the disease by producing output information regarding the relationship between the region and the incidence of the disease. This research is an ecological correlation study using a spatial analysis model. The population in this study is the scope of the region in the city of Palembang. The data used is secondary data. The data were analyzed univariately and bivariately using the Pearson and Spearman's Correlate correlation test and spatial analysis using the Overlay technique. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between the independent variables, namely population density, percentage of healthy houses, rainfall, humidity, and air temperature, with a significant value (p > 0.05). Spatial analysis shows that the Kemuning sub-district has consistently high pulmonary TB IR in the study period, it is also influenced by the variables of population density, percentage of healthy houses, and climatological conditions. The results of data observations indicate that these variables have an indirect influence on the mobility of the host in the process of transmitting pulmonary TB in the city of Palembang in 2014-2018. Suggestions to the Palembang City Health Office to optimize monitoring and intervention to prevent pulmonary TB transmission, especially in areas with moderate to high population density, and to further researchers to increase the scope of the research area to be at the provincial or national level, and increase the ecological study period of more than 5 years.
