Abstract

A quasi experimental reseach was conducted to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with the observe,Think and Question (OTQ) Strategy on biology learning outcomes.The reseach subjects in class X IPA 1 werw 22 student as the experimental class and Class X IPA II with total of 22 student as the control class. The experimental class was given a Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model with the Observe, Think and Question (OTQ) Strategy and the control class is given the model of Problem Based Learning (PBL). `Hypotesis testing using the Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) using SPSS 20. The results showed that the learning process using the Problem Based Learning model (PBL) with the Observe, Think and Question (OTQ) strategy had a significant effect on student learning outcomes. Furthermore, the PBL-OTQ model is better than the class that uses the Problem Based Learning. The N-gain value of the experimental class is 0,73 in the high category and the control class is 0,48 in the medium category, this means that the quality of learning can be said to icrease
