Abstract

An archipelagic country is a country that has complex problems , in this world there are only a few countries that can be called archipelagic countries , one of which is in the 1945 Constitution of the State of the Republic of Indonesia in article 25a and in Indonesia . Therefore , countries that have wide seas can face problems that are so complex and real in various sectors , one of which is pirates . Piracy itself is known as piracy and armed robbery , but the two things are the same and inseparable . To overcome this , Southeast Asia with the establishment of the ASEAN Maritime Forum ( AMF ) is expected to further increase the seriousness of maritime security in the ASEAN region . The Asean Maritime Forum is a dialogue forum from institutions related to Marine / Maritime issues . The formation of the AMF is stated in the APSC ( ASEAN Political - Security Comunit ) Blueprint ( 2009-20015 ) , namely in point A.2.5 This study aims to determine the Indonesia - Malaysia - Philippines trilateral cooperation in reducing piracy cases in the waters of the three countries . This study uses the concept of Cooperation international , the author uses a qualitative descriptive type of research . Types of data sources used by the author in this study is secondary data in the form of literature . The results obtained from this study indicate that the Indonesia - Malaysia Philippines trilateral cooperation has carried out good and controlled cooperation , as evidenced by the significant decrease in piracy cases in the border waters of the three countries in 2015-2018 .
