Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan pengaruh frekuensi dan cara penyiraman air terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman caisim (.Brassica chinensis L.) varietas Tosakan. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada Februari sampai Juli 2012 di rumah tanaman di Plaju Palembang. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan pengamatan langsung di lapangan dan data akan disajikan dalam bentuk tabulasi, grafik dan regresi sederhana. Parameter yang diamati yaitu kebutuhan air tanaman, debit emiter, efisiensi penyaluran, tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, luas daun dan berat hasil produksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa debit emiter tertinggi pada frekuensi setiap 3 hari jarak 35 cm yaitu 0,52 ml/s, debit emiter terendah yaitu pada frekuensi setiap 7 hari jarak 55 cm adalah 0,4 ml/s. Efisiensi penyaluran tertinggi pada kran 1 yaitu 88,89% dan efisiensi penyaluran dan terendah pada kran-3 yaitu 82,01%. Tinggi tanaman terbesar adalah pada frekuensi setiap 3 hari penyiraman dengan irigasi tetes yaitu 32,1 cm, tinggi tanaman terendah pada frekuensi setiap 5 hari penyiraman manual yaitu 15,9 cm Luas daun terluas pada frekuensi setiap 3 hari pada jarak 55 cm penyiraman dengan irigasi tetes yaitu sebesar 632,5 cm2, luas daun terendah pada frekuensi setiap 7 hari penyiraman secara manual yaitu 300,1 cm2 dan berat hasil produksi tertinggi pada frekuensi setiap 3 hari penyiraman dengan irigasi tetes yaitu sebesar 43,9 gram, berat hasil produksi terendah pada frekuensi setiap 7 hari penyiraman secara manual yaitu 19,86 gram. Kesimpulan dari penelitian adalah pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman tertinggi yaitu pada frekuensi setiap 3 hari dengan penyiraman irigasi tetes yaitu hasil produksi sebesar 43,9 gram dan tinggi tanaman sebesar 32,1 cm, sedangkan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman terendah yaitu pada frekuensi setiap 7 hari penyiraman secara manual yaitu hasil produksi sebesar 19,86 gram dan tinggi tanaman terendah pada frekuensi setiap 5 hari penyiraman manual yaitu 15,9 cm.
