Abstract
Cases of fire in buildings are cases that often occur in urban areas. The occurrence of a fire can cause losses, one of which can cause damage to buildings or buildings when a fire occurs. One of them can be by knowing the evacuation route, because it is very important for continuity in the event of a disaster such as a fire. The existence of an evacuation route in the Dean of the Faculty of Public Health can make it easier for building occupants to go to the evacuation site. The design of this research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The total informants are 7 informants with details of 3 key informants and 4 supporting informants. Analysis of evacuation routes in the building of the Faculty of Public Health, Sriwijaya University refers to SNI 03-1746-2000, SNI 03-1745-2000, SNI 03-6574-2001, NFPA 101 which aims to calculate evacuation time based on SPFE 3rd Handbook of Fire Protection Engineering 2002. The results showed that the Dean's building had 3 (three) exits according to SNI 03-6547-2001. There are wide corridors that do not meet SNI 03-1745-2000. The exit door has met the requirements of SNI 03-1746-2000. The exit sign does not meet the requirements of SNI 03-8574-2000. There are no evacuation route signs at each corridor intersection and assembly point placement signs. There is one main staircase which is in the middle for its width and shape according to SNI 03-1746-2000 requirements. The gathering point has not met the requirements of NFPA 101. The required evacuation time to access the exit is 2,181 minutes. The conclusion of this study is that it is necessary to determine the "assembly point" sign in each assembly point area and replace the ladder safety by using iron or steel.
