Abstract

One of the obstacles in breastfeeding at the beginning of a baby's life is due to the influence of Sectio caesarea. Sectio caesarea surgery has its own impact on the mother, including anesthesia, severe sepsis, impaired mobilization, thromboembolism, Activity of Dailing Living (ADL) disrupted early breastfeeding initiation (IMD) is not fulfilled which causes problems in the breastfeeding process and milk production in infants. mother. Implementing maternity nursing practice focused on comprehensive nursing care and applying oxytocin massage intervention to post sectio caesarean mothers, in the Enim Room, 2nd floor of the Midwifery section of RSUP dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in 2021.The method used in writing scientific papers is a qualitative research using a case study approach by providing nursing care to three cervical cancer patients based on Indonesian nursing standards (SDKI, SIKI, and SLKI).Based on the results of the case study, it was found that the three patients managed had the same nursing problem, namely ineffective breastfeeding. The intervention given in this case study is by giving oxytocin massage therapy for 3 consecutive days for 15- 20 minutes and there is an increase in milk production and provides a sense of comfort. Based on evidence based nursing actions that can be performed on post sectio caesarean patients with ineffective breastfeeding problems, oxytocin massage therapy can be given as an additional intervention in providing nursing care. Oxytocin massage therapy helps facilitate milk production and provides a sense of comfort.
