Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of problem based learning on student learning outcomes, to describe the application of problem based learning to student interest in learning, and describe a positive relationship between interest and learning outcomes of students in grade V SD Negeri 11 Indralaya as the impact of using problem based learning on the sub-theme of national events surrounding the proclamation of independence. The method used in this research is Pre-Eksperimental Design with One Group Pretest Posttest Design. The sample in this study was grade VB students consisting 8 male students and 5 female students. Data collection techniques used are test and questionnaire. From the results of this study, the average pretest score was 45,15 and the average posttest score was 76,54. Based on the hypothesis test, it was found that t_count > t_table was 14,224 > 2,179 with a significance level of 5%. Therefore, H_o is rejected and H_a is accepted. It can be concluded that problem based learning affects the learning outcomes of students in class V SD Negeri 11 Indralaya. The application of problem based learning based on the results of questionnaire data shows that the percentage of student interest in learning in the high category is 23%, the medium category is 62%, and the low category is 15%. The relationship between interest and student learning outcomes wa tasted using the product moment correlation formula so that it was obtained r_hitung = 0,713 and r_tabel = 0,553 at a significance level of 5%. Because r_count = 0,713 > r_table = 0,553 then H_o is rejected and H_a is accepted and the level of the relationship is in the strong category. It can be concluded that there is a positive relationship between interest and student learning outcomes as a result of the application of problem based learning.
